While the world begins or ends their comings and goings, there is a phone call taking place between two dance music titans, Horse Meat Disco’s Jim Stanton and bonafide dance music rock star, no less Horse Meat Disco vocal cohort, Amy Douglas. The vibe is one of frustration, Jim is absolutely sure in his gut, that “trippy is coming. Trippy and Hippie is coming, man...I just KNOW it and I find myself reaching for more psychedelic music and vibes these days, sister, I sure wish I could find an outlet for do- ing so though live and creatively.” To which Amy, responds, “well why don’t we MAKE the outlet for that to happen?”
Not one to let one single blade of grass grow under her feet, Amy began reaching out to “likeminded individuals” within her sphere of influence and by the end of one single day, HEAD. was born. Tribe of Debauched Reprobates? Perhaps. Mobile Gypsy party and band alike? Perhaps. Content making band of brothers and sisters from the world over devoted to gaining access to the best parts of your mind body and soul? Absolutely.
The cast of characters in addition to the aforementioned Ms. Douglas and Mr. Stanton reads like a who’s who of the emerging rebel underground of dance music. On vocals in addition to Amy is Moon Boots and fellow Michael The Lion vocalist Steven Klavier, handling all things spoken word is the great Cat P. On production duties, as with all things Ladyballs is Our Starry Universe CEO, Ladyballs co-founder and Birds of Pan- daemonium member, Tim Wagner, and on remix duties is Mexico City’s rising star, Paurro, creative director of Airelibre FM, DJ extraordinaire and tastemaker.
